Admissions & Fees
“Both our daughters attended Alton Convent School from the age of 4 and we saw no reason ever to leave as they were so happy and we believed that happy children learn. They both look back on their “school days” as being happy, successful, productive times and an opportunity to make lifelong friends thus instilling in them the confidence to progress to further education. ” Mrs Hexton parent from 1995 – 2011
Applying from outside to the Sixth Form
Most girls joining our Sixth Form come from our own Year 11, but a small number do arrive from elsewhere. Our Sixth Form Open Evening takes place early in October and is a great opportunity to listen to the Head of Sixth Form and current and past Sixth Formers talking about their experiences. This is followed by a Taster Day where girls get a taste of Sixth Form teaching and our enrichment programme.
You must complete a Registration Form to express an interest. A detailed application form will then be available from October and must be returned by December. Interviews take place in January and offers must be accepted by the end of the Spring Term.
Scholarships
- Academic scholarship
- Creative / performing arts scholarship
- Sport scholarship
- Governors’ award
Scholarships are open to all candidates. Awards will be notified along with the offer of a place and acceptance of awards must be received by the indicated date. Sixth Form Awards must be accepted by the end of December. Where further assistance is required, scholarship awards may be supplemented by a means-tested bursary.
Please complete the relevant application form if you are interested in applying for an award.
Governors’ Award
Governors’ Awards are available up to a maximum value of full fees and will be made on the basis of academic performance, service to the school and community and an interview with the Governors’ selection panel. The granting of such a prestigious award is conditional on students taking a lead in setting high standards.
Applicants for a Governors’ Award should be able to describe their academic achievement, the skills and attributes they offer and their ambitions for the future.
Please complete the relevant application form if you are interested in applying for an award.

Notes
A sibling discount applies in respect of the fees for a third child enrolled from Reception upwards. Fees are determined annually by the Governing Body early in the summer term. Fees are payable in advance on the first day of each term, although a year’s fees may be paid by standing order through arrangement with the finance officer. Parents are reminded that a full term’s notice is required if a pupil is to be withdrawn from the school.
