Alton 1 Ditcham 0

It is always an adventure travelling up to Ditcham Park School and this was no exception. The team were missing a couple of key players due to illness, injury and county commitments. The game turned out to be very one-sided with Alton on the attack for the majority of the game I lowever many near chances came and went and at half-time the score was still 0-0 . Second half started well and within no time Alton had scored, much to the relief of the whole team. An excellent performance and the man of the man was Harry.

Alton I Frensham 0

The ul3's played against Frensham and it was a great game winning 1-0. And Rebecca Scored the goal. It was excellent team work between Holly  and Isobel . There was a fantastic save from Sarah  in Goal and Amy  and Sophie  made some great tackles. Overall a very hard working and fantastic match. Man of the match was Maya.

Alton 2 Bohunt 0

The girls had a hard fought game against Bohunt and created many chances. With commanding defence from Emily and Francesca Bohunt found it difficult to break through. Two well worked goals secured an excellent result. Man of the match was Molly.

The first match of the season against Frensham Heights and no one was fully fit. Unfortunately some key members of the team were at play rehearsals, so some very loyal year 9 pupils stepped in and saved the day. The match started well and a series of short corners led to the first goal - a brilliant corner taken and crossed in for Jessica Graham to convert into a goal. The girls continued to play well and the year 9 pupils made a huge contribution to the team. Half-time came and went and we were ready for a second goal. As Alton pushed up Katie  made a run down the wing, received the ball and made a fantastic cross to Rachel , who scored a tremendous goal, finishing off the move perfectly.

Alton Convent 0 LWC 0

The U14 hockey team played with skill and determination throughout the entire match. They created chance after chance and were awarded short corner after short corner but failed to convert the chances they created. The girls have an excellent team spirit and work together to create opportunities. Emily gave an excellent performance in goal and made many important saves throughout the game but especially in the last few seconds. Man of the match was our centre half Rachel who didn't stop running and tackling all match. Next match Tuesday 23rd September 2008 v Bohunt.

The Year Eight hockey team had an amazing match. It was the first time the team had played a full eleven a-side game. They were playing Bohunt who were a very good opposition. Alton were strong in both attack and defence and in the end Holly Yendell scored a terrific goal. The man of the match was a joint event awarded to Sarah Murphy GK and Amy Leather CH. A great start to the season Next game Thursday 25th September 2008 away to Frensham Heights.

On Wednesday 5th March Alton A team went to Dunhurst (Bedales) for a 7 a side tournament. The first match was against Frensham Heights. We started off well and Harry scored the opening goal, then Frensham hit back and scored a goal. Katie then broke away dwn the wing and scored. The final score was 2-1 to Alton

The we played the favourites, Dunhurst A. This was the best game we ever had played! We started well with an opener from Katie and Harry prodviding the second goal. Our final score was 2-0 to Alton. We were on a wining streak and Miss O'D was really proud!

Notoriously strong, this match proved no exception for Alton. Dunhurst showed excellent passing and ball skills to get ahead of Alton. Although we had lots of shots on goal, none would go in! Result of 0 - 2. Players of the match - Fiona and Francesca.

Away, vs Frensham Heights
Due to a number of illnesses and injuries Miss O'Donnell combined two age groups to give the stronger year 7s a chance to mix with the year 8s. This proved very successful and Alton were dominant throughout. We had many shots on target and were very attacking for the whole game. A resounding win for a team who had never played together before of 4 - 0 - well done Alton!
