Tulips in Amsterdam

The UVIth trip to Amsterdam was an unforgettable experience. Once we stepped off the train we were flooded with images of bicycles and trams on the way to our hotel. As it was a late night, we had a good night's sleep and visited the Van Gogh museum in the morning. This took us through a biographical journey of his life showing his interests and family, as well as his artwork. It also involved artists he inspired and those he was inspired by. Much of his work was extremely moving and made a poignant impact on many of us.

UVI Joint Retreat with Salesian College

| |

St Cassian's Centre at Kintbury is a residential retreat centre, owned by the De La Salle Brothers and run by a mixed community of Brothers and volunteers.
For two days in November members of the Upper Sixth at ACS and Salesian College came together to reflect on their Lourdes experience. We had time to relax and reflect on the amazing HCPT pilgrimage to Lourdes.
On the Friday night we discussed how our Lourdes pilgrimage had had a dramatic affect on all our lives. It made us realize just how lucky we actually were!

100% Success at A-Level

Alton Convent Sixth Form hit the jackpot again this year with a 100% success at A Level and maintained its unbroken tradition of success across the board in all subjects since the creation of its new Sixth Form Centre in September 2000.

The girls arrived early at school anxious to find out whether they had secured their first choice university courses. They need not have worried, results were exceptionally strong in both arts and sciences with student after student squealing with delight at their respective results with more than two thirds of all results at the top grades.

VI Form Leavers' Day

The school bad farewell to its upper sixth leavers on Friday 29th June. Fr Tim Buckley CSsR celebrated Mass for the sixth form, their parents and teachers, to mark the end of these girls' time at the school. During Mass, the girls spoke about some of their memories of life in the senior school as they lit candles, one for each year. Afterwards, Mrs Kirkham shared some of her recollections of the students' time at the school and made a presentation to each girl.
