Fifth Form Farewells
Looking at the looking glass
What did I see?
Eleven years at the Convent
Staring back at me.
Starting with a little girl
Hair cut in a bob
Rushing round the playground
With the Alton Convent mob.
Progressing from an angel
To chief donkey in a play,
And onto being a singer
Having fun along the way.
Playing in the orchestra
Was what I liked to do
Along with science experiments
And library duty too.
So many friends and faces
Swirl before my eyes,
For now I’m off to college.
I shall really miss you guys.
“We have learned that teachers are actually people, despite being slightly odd, but we love them all the same. We have so much to thank them for.”
“Year 9 seems ages ago so when I was asked to think of my favourite memories it took a while. Yr. 9 was when many of our strong friendships formed even though there were arguments. We may look back and cringe but it was fun at the time!!”
“At the end of the fourth year our hard work was rewarded with a trip to sunny Italy! A trip which holds for me at least, several hilarious memories. Most of us attended the ball at Christmas, which went fairly well. The fourth year was certainly a time when we made new friends. Friendships which continued on to the fifth year and I’m sure will continue.”
“Despite the exams, this last year has been the best we’ve had, and I know that none of us are going to forget it. We’ve been through so much together and all have our own memories, but things like the Italy Trip, form assemblies and our Leavers Day are things we can all share. During the exams, the amount of support and love we have for each other really showed through.”
“The second year - the year we went to Le Touquet, well that was an experience! The disco was certainly not uneventful! We all must remember Mrs Swann getting locked in her cupboard and still strongly deny all knowledge of it. All in all it was a fantastic year with lots of tears and laughter contributing to our whole Convent life experience”
