What is the school uniform?
Children are expected to wear full school uniform at all times and abide by the rules. Blazers must be worn to and from school. School uniform must be kept in good condition and replaced where necessary. If there is any reason why this is temporarily not possible, notification in writing is required. Sensible school shoes should be worn. Hair should be neat and in the case of girls tied back from the face when it becomes shoulder length.
The uniform supplier is Harrods who make a number of visits to the school throughout the year. We also hold some items of uniform in the General Office. Second-hand uniform sales are held at the school each term.
Please encourage your child to keep their uniform smart. It may ease the morning rush for uniform to be laid out the night before. Do name everything, including shoes, trainers and sports equipment. A marker pen will do and when your daughter's in the senior school, she should be able to do this job.
Uniform is very expensive and the Form Tutors or Class Teachers do a name check every term, but some children are very casual about possessions. It is distressing to collect unnamed articles at the end of term which are never claimed.
Please check that PE kit and, for senior students, the white science coat, come home for washing regularly – especially at half term and for the holidays. If articles are left at the end of the summer term we have to phone you to ask you to come and collect them before we dispose of them.
Please ensure that uniform is in good condition. When a jumper gets thin or a skirt becomes too short please replace them before a request has to be sent home. Students are always on show either to or from school or in school itself, where there are frequent tours by visitors.
