Working with others

Students will be expected to plan activities to identify what needs to be done, to help allocate responsibilities, organize tasks to meet their own responsibilities, support co-operative working and exchange information on progress.

Problem Solving

Students will be expected to identify problems, come up with ways to solve them, plan and try out options and apply given methods to check whether problems have been solved.

Leadership Skills

Whether organizing fund raising activities for charity, or tackling the challenges of Tregoyd House, sixth form girls are encouraged to take on the challenge of working together both in teams and as leaders.

HCPT Pilgrimage to Lourdes

The HCPT Pilgrimage to Lourdes, with the Salesian College is arguably the highlight of the Lower Sixth Year.

Last Year the students were heavily involved in fundraising activities from the October ‘dinner party’ launch to last minute bag packing at Sainsburys in March.

The group prepare liturgies, make banners, learn how to face paint – all in preparation for the big send off on Easter Sunday morning. The 24 hour journey by coach, boat and train is a reminder of discomforts experienced by pilgrims of past eras but once installed at the Nazareth Hotel the real challenges begin. Lourdes is hard work – physically and mentally exhausting but above all spiritually uplifting.

“the thing I remember most was the atmosphere, everyone could feel there was just a special something, and it could be seen in people’s attitude and actions. It was as if all the nice people had congregated in that one place”
