Taster Day
‘I loved the fabulous taster day and although I was nervous I was quickly made to feel very welcome. Everyone is always smiling and happy!’
This was the view of one of the seventy eight pupils who sampled lessons at Alton Convent School’s Taster Day for prospective year seven pupils. It was typical of many. The girls experienced a range of lessons, had a chance to find their way around the school and to make some new friends. Most lessons ensured that there was something to take home and at the end of the day the girls cheerily left with a newsletter of the day and a balloon tied round their wrists.
Although the next time they appear at the Convent it will be to take the entrance exam on January 6th. All the girls were reassured that this would be a positive experience and not one to be anxious about. It will be an occasion to show what they can do and not one which focuses on shortcomings.
