In the glorious surroundings of the Thames Valley Athletic Stadium in Eton, Alton Convent School took part in the Annual Regional Athletic ISA Championships. Alton Convent athletes produced some amazing performances, many finishing in the top three in their events and were awarded bronze, silver and gold medals.

Seven of Alton Convent's athletes performed exceptionally and as a result have qualified for the National ISA Finals in Birmingham on the 24^th June 2009. From over a 1000 competitors the following girls have achieved fantastic results with many personal bests.

Beth, Year 7, competed in the 800 meters in a personal best time.

Alicia, Year 7, Shot Putt with a throw over 7 meters.

Emily, Year 9, Discus with a brilliant throw of over 21 meters.

Francesca, Year 9, 800m with a fantastic sprint finish.

Amy, Year 10, Shot Putt with a great throw at her last attempt of over 7 meters.

Francesca T, Year 5, 75m sprint with the race of her life in a superb time.

Joanna, Year 5, Rounders Ball Throw of over 31 meters which is an outstanding distance.

The Year 5 relay team also won the relay and the team came first overall in the whole competition.

Athletics goes from strength to strength as each Year we have more pupils gaining Regional success and qualifying for National Competitions. We wish them luck at the National Finals.
