Dear Parents,

Another school year has come to a close with its many highs and mercifully few lows. The long summer term with its many exciting events traditionally leaves us rather breathless and in need of a good holiday and this year is no exception. We were delighted with the success of the summer festival of arts, the teddy bears’ picnic, sports days and of course the huge number of residential and day trips. It is always such a pleasure to observe our pupils broadening their horizons and developing greater skills and confidence both in and outside school.
We look forward to celebrating the achievements of our senior girls in their external examinations in August and wish all our Year 6 and Senior School leavers happiness and success in the future.
A special wish goes with Mr Maher, Mrs Seanor and our Sixth Form girls on their expedition to our sister convents in India. I know they will be challenged by what they encounter but I am confident they will give of their very best. We look forward to hearing all abut it in the autumn.
This year, on a personal note, I would like to thank all the parents and pupils who have sent me their best wishes, cards, flowers and gifts during my recent absence. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness I have been shown by so many people. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I was fortunate to know that the school would continue to flourish in the safe hands of its wonderful staff, committed students and supportive parents.
I wish you all a very happy and safe summer holiday and look forward to showing you our new Creative and Performing Arts centre in September.
May God’s blessings be with you all.
Sue Kirkham
