Residential Programme

“Information’s pretty thin stuff unless mixed with experience.”
Clarence Day

Outdoor pursuits and residential visits are organised throughout the school year – skiing, potholing, surfing, mountain biking, kayaking or raft building – there is something for everyone. Few things in life are more testing than the reality of the high rope challenge.

Visits to major cultural capitals with all the enrichment they offer are always popular with Barcelona, Rome, Paris, Budapest and New York featuring on the programme.

The residential programme from years 3 to 13 is designed to be part of a coherent learning experience, customised to meet the developmental needs of each year group. It is never a passive experience planned, as it is, to challenge preconceptions, open minds to future possibilities, increase self belief and promote collaboration and co-operation within peer groups.

The Duke of Edinburgh programme attracts large numbers of girls from year 10 to 13 with considerable success at Bronze, Silver and Gold. In recent years expeditions have been undertaken on foot, canoe and horseback.
