Prep PE

The prep school sports programme ensures children grow up realising the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Participating in sport builds character and makes a major contribution to social development with an emphasis on mutual trust and co-operation in the context of a competitive environment.
Lower prep PE and games build foundation skills in sport and children up to year 3 have weekly swimming lessons.
In the upper prep the core curriculum focuses on traditional team games with separate lessons for boys and girls in rugby, football, cricket, netball, hockey and rounders. Children enjoy the freedom of our extensive playing fields and purpose built sports hall.
We recognise that not all children excel at team games: our provision extends to include cross country running, dance, tennis and athletics. Sports days are great occasions and every year a number of our pupils go on to represent the school in national athletics and cross country competitions with some notable success.
Fixtures in team sports, both league and tournament, provide regular opportunities for competition in prep and senior school.
