Learning in Early Years

“Children at play are not merely playing; their games should be seen as their most serious actions.”

Michel de Montaigne

A carefully planned, balanced curriculum allows Early Years children to develop at their own pace.

Children enjoy stories and poems to develop listening and speaking skills and share in a variety of pre-reading and reading activities. Practical activities allow children to explore colour, number and shape before progressing to written work.

Our provision follows the National Stepping Stones towards the Early Learning Goals, with excellent results in the Foundation Stage Profile at the end of Reception.
