PTFA Summer Fete
2nd June 2008
Dear Parents and Friends
The date for this year's Summer Fete has been set as Saturday, June 21st and the PTFA is hoping that the event will, once again, be blessed with good weather and provide an entertaining and enjoyable occasion for all the family.
Last year's Fete raised a magnificent sum in excess of £6000 which, when added to the proceeds from other activities throughout the year, enabled the school to purchase a much needed new mini bus. As you may be aware, this year the PTFA's aim is to raise the funds necessary to improve the school's sports facilities by resurfacing the netball and tennis courts.
The Fete whilst being an important feature in our fund raising calendar also aims to provide a diverse range of stalls and activities appealing to all ages. As you will appreciate however, to fulfil this dual function, assistance is required not only in terms of man power but also in financial set up costs and it is to this end that I am writing to you today. Should you be interested in sponsoring a stall or sideshow, we would be delighted to hear from you. We are not suggesting that you donate a large amount (although we would not wish to discourage such generosity!) but amounts of say, £10 or £20 would be very warmly received and would enable us to stage a really fun filled event whilst generating additional income. Any contribution which you might feel able to provide, would, of course, be fully acknowledged in the publicity material for the event.
Should you wish to help in this way please do not hesitate to contact me on 01420 587025 or alternatively, fill in the form below and return to the School Office along with your donation.
Your support is very much appreciated and we look forward to seeing you all on the 21st!
With best wishes

Dear Parents and Friends
The Summer Fete is now just over two weeks away and the PTFA is working hard to ensure that the event maintains its reputation for providing a fun packed itinerary for all the family.
Once again we are calling on your generosity and requesting contributions for our many and various stalls. PTFA members will be present in the playground at the end of afternoon school each day of the week leading up to the Fete (i.e. w/c Monday, 16th June) to receive your donations. Alternatively, these can be left at the school office, clearly labelled 'Fete'.
Items which are particularly welcome include toiletries, bottles (of all descriptions), paperback fiction and C.D.s (but NOT videos). We are also asking for plastic cups filled with any 'goodies' which you might think suitable. A few suggestions might be the obvious small sweets and lollipops but also hair accessories, plastic farm animals, small items of stationery etc.
Following on from the success of last year's 'Jungle' Tombola, we will be running a similar stall but this time with a 'love' theme, designed to appeal to our female pupils. Contributions for this might include pink, red or heart shaped items or anything printed with, say, a heart shaped motif.
Finally, the Fete would not be complete without the ever popular cake stall. Contributions for this can be brought along on the day or delivered to school on Friday, 20th June.
Thank you so much for your loyal support which is very much appreciated and without which the Fete could not be the event it is. We do hope to see as many of you as possible on the day and hope that you have a wonderful time.
With best wishes
Kay Sellers
Chairman PTFA Fete Committee
