To Eden and Beyond…

|

In bright Autumnal weather the Fourth Forms, led by Mrs Dell, their form tutors and others made their way to Okehampton for a long weekend of physical activities and explorations of the world in which we live. After tumbling out of the coach at the Youth Hostel, a pretty converted railway station from a bygone age, the fun began immediately with team building games, including team ski-walking. The Eden Project in Cornwall set our minds thinking about how we could play our part in saving the planet as we explored the giant biomes and the vegetation from different climatic areas. We had a spooky night walk on Dartmoor, gazed at the myriad of stars in the clear night air, and with the return of daylight mountain biked, learnt archery and built rafts. Our confidence grew as we challenged assault-type courses and climbing walls. We ate well, had loads of fresh air and a disco to finish. We even managed to celebrate two birthdays while we were away!
