Comedy Review

Sounds of laughter and enjoyment could be heard from the Marian Hall on Thursday when Alton Convent Sixth Form joined with students from Salesian College to provide an evening of comedy, music and drama. The second of its kind, the aim was to raise funds in order to send handicapped children to Lourdes.
After the chance to socialise over a delicious ploughman's supper, the audience were in for a treat! The first displays of talent came from Katie and Izzi with their portrayal of two politicians- as always making perfect sense!
The audience were left in stitches after David's hilarious rendition of "That's Amore", his brilliant accent worked to perfection as he brought the spirit of Italy alive.
Different musical talent during the evening included a rock band comprised of students from Salesian College. The popular songs went down well and got the whole hall singing along to "Hotel California" and "House of the Rising Sun."
In stark contrast the audience were expecting a recital of Beethoven's Sonatas as Rosemary meticulously prepared herself at the grand piano... only to hear the sounds of "Twinkle Twinkle" resonating around the room!
The grand finale came courtesy of Salesian's John with his very own video version of "Rockstar". Endless familiar faces appeared on the screen, students and teachers from both schools alike, to the great amusement of the spectators.
The evening was a resounding success with all who came, relaxed and enjoyed. All performers had an excellent time preparing the show with the support of Mr Maher. Here's looking forward to the next Review!
