Alton Convent School is subject to inspection by the Independent Schools' Inspectorate, overseen by HMI, and the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth. Its early years provision is also subject to inspection by OFSTED.

Over the course of the 2005-06 academic year it was also accredited as a Healty School and both the prep and senior schools were awarded Gold Artsmarks by the Arts Council of England.
