IV Form Cultural Trip to Bath

On 7th February, the Fourth Form set off for a four day residential to Bristol. We visited several major tourist attractions in Bath as well, such as the ancient Roman bath house, where we discovered about the social pass time that was bathing. We later went to another meeting place, where th wealthiest socialites would have gone in the 18th Century, the Bath Assembly Room. We also visited the fashion museum, where we could compare authentic, designer constumes of different eras, even trying some on for ourselves.
We looked at a variety of other museums, including a fascinating Jane Austen museum in the neighbourhood of her family home, with a hands-on science museum, where we learned how to build a sturdy bridge, how fast our reaction times are and how unnerving it feels to be in a slanted living room. In the evening we watched a dynamic performance of the 'Taming of the Shrew' in a local theatre and had a great meal out.
To draw the trip to a close, the entire group, including the staff, climbed up the Tor in Glastonbury to be rewarded with beautiiful views of the Somerset countryside. Overall, it was a fantastic trip, and we had a lot of fun!
