LVI Form Residential Trip to Tregoyd House
1st October 2007
Dear Parents,
Tregoyd House: Friday 4th October - Monday 8th October 2007
I am now able to give you more details about the weekend. We shall leave school at 10.30 am so girls will have lessons period 1 and 2 on Friday. A packed lunch will be required for the journey on Friday and one will be provided for the return journey.
Kit List
Old clothes are recommended for the activities but we expect the girls to be smart when travelling. Jeans may be worn for the journey but they must not be tatty or have holes in them. A kit list of suggested items is attached.
Bedding
We have booked bedding for all the students this year so there will be no need to bring sleeping bags.
Medical Facilities
There is a staffed sick bay at the Centre.
I should like to assure you that the Centre has been inspected and approved by the appropriate authorities and that Instructor qualifications and competence conform with National Governing Body Guidelines and the Activity Centre Advisory Committee Code of Practice.
Meals
Three meals a day are provided as well as drinks between activities and before bed-time. Please complete the attached slip regarding dietary requirements.
Activities
Most activities take place in the extensive grounds of the Centre. Our exact programme will not be finalised until our arrival as there may have to be changes depending on the weather. As some of the activities may be water based please indicate your daughter's swimming ability on the attached form. For insurance purposes I also have to declare if any participant or close relative has been hospitalised in the last six months. If so with what condition, when, (dates), and for what duration? Please would you therefore also complete the relevant section on the form.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs S.M. Seanor.
KIT LIST
All essential activity and safety equipment is provided, but students will need personal clothing, footwear and washing kit. Brand new and expensive gear should be left at home.
Bearing in mind the outdoor and active nature of the weekend old, casual and easily washable clothes are strongly recommended. Jeans are impractical, as they provide no warmth when wet and are difficult to dry. Please limit luggage to one case/bag per person plus one small handbag only.
Below is a suggested list of items recommended
Washing kit
At least 2 towels
Pyjamas
Several changes of underwear
At least 2 thick sweaters/fleeces
At least 3 pairs of old trousers/jogging bottoms (not jeans)
Shorts (for warm weather)
Several T-shirts
Thick and thin socks (several pairs)
At least 2 pairs of trainers (one for wet activities - Jelly shoes are Ideal)
Waterproof jacket (if you have one)
Hat and gloves (for cold weather)
Several strong clear plastic bags (for wet or spare clothes)
Sun hat and sun tan lotion
Swimwear
LOST PROPERTY
Please ensure that all belongings are clearly marked with the name of the school/group as well as the name of the student.
