Sixth Form Open Evening

Dear Parents,

Re:          Sixth Form Open Evening

Wednesday, 10th October 2007 at 6.45 pm - 9.00 pm

On Wednesday 10th October 2007 we will be holding an important meeting to discuss the challenges of the Post 16 educational curriculum and Sixth Form options.

I would like all members of the fifth form to attend as this evening represents an important stage in your daughter's decision making on future subject choices.  Parents are warmly invited to join us on this occasion to be given more information about the sixth form curriculum and extra curricular programme.  We are also offering you the opportunity to discuss details with the subject teachers and current students.  A presentation will take place in the Marian Hall at 7.00 pm followed by the Options Fair in the Welsford Hall.

We are keen to give you the chance to visit the Sixth Form centre.  The self-contained facilities have proved a great success with girls enjoying the freedom to study and to make friends as a whole group.

This is not only an opportunity to see and hear about our Sixth Form but to advise you and your daughter about Sixth Form curriculum.  I shall be explaining to parents how the AS and A2 examinations work in practice and the importance attached to appropriate advice on the UCAS admissions process to ensure progression to suitable courses and universities.

I look forward to sharing with you our experiences of the last six years.  For the Sixth year running we achieved 100% pass rate in our A level results and have received many positive comments on the excellence of our provision.   We continue to be determined to ensure a stimulating, challenging and genuinely enjoyable post 16 experience for your daughters and look forward to seeing you on 10th October.

Yours sincerely

Mrs S Kirkham

Headmistress
