Pastoral Care

Teachers make time for pupils, listening to their individual concerns and enthusiasm. Our young people are secure and know that there is always someone to whom they can turn. Academic success is founded on such security.
A school council in the senior school allows pupils’ views to be aired and several proposals each year are implemented to enrich school life. House meetings provide a similar opportunity for upper prep pupils.
A prefect and mentoring system allows older students and sixth formers to support younger children and encourage greater responsibility. The sixth form act as willing mentors and role models to younger pupils.
In the words of a senior pupil: ‘this is one big family and we support each other’ and in those of a prep pupil ‘if you have a problem, the teachers get alongside.’
