The Winning Team
Rock ‘n’ Roll was the theme for Alton Convent school’s first Danceathon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care. Having had a very successful Tug of War fundraiser for the last three years it was decided that this year we would try something new. Pupils from Years 5 to 13 took part and spent the morning in frantic rehearsals.
The theme gave pupils a wide variety of song choices to which their routine could be performed. Rock around the Clock, Hand Jive and a Grease melody all added to the mix. Students competed within their House with each having a Senior and Junior team.
The end result was one of high energy, colour and some fantastic rockin’ moves! The winning House was St. Francis and overall the students raised £500.00 for such worthwhile cause.
