Reception have a hoot!

Dexter showing off!

Reception children started off the week in flying form – of the feathered variety that is! Hill Top Birds of Prey Experience had dropped in to give us an impromptu demonstration. This was a great opportunity to use our purpose built outdoor classroom especially as the heavens had opened. Dexter the Tawny Owl was the youngest bird at three months old which caused great delight especially as he still hadn’t learnt how to woo-too. He was also quite happy to be stroked unlike Yorkie the Eagle Owl who liked to eat mice and weighed a massive13.2kg.

Revel the Snowy owl was quite naughty and kept jumping off his perch whilst the smallest Spartan the American Kestrel quietly sat still and allowed to be held by all the children.
