Race for Life
On Wednesday 20th June, sixteen girls from the fifth form ran the Race for Life in Basingstoke in aid of Cancer Research. There was a lot of confusion at the start and whilst we had all planned to walk due to depleting fitness levels during our revision period, we ended up starting the 5km course in the runners section!
Most of our group decided to take this as fate, despite not having trained, and managed to run the whole course. The first girls in our group finished in around 35 minutes with the rest of us coming within ten minutes. Astoundingly, we all finished with the joggers!
Over only around a week of trying to get sponsorship we managed, as a group, to raise over £850. We are all so grateful to everyone who supported us both financially and by coming to the race to cheer us on and I am so proud of everyone who ran with me.
Thank you all so much!
