Lower Sixth Head off to Bath and Bristol

Members of the Lower Sixth set off early on Thursday morning to visit Bristol University on its Open Day.  Bristol, one of the Russell Group Universities, is a traditional university set in the city. As we piled out of the mini buses to register we quickly realised we would be covering quite a distance to attend all the various lectures we had booked. Girls went to seminars on everything from Animal Behaviour to Freakonimcs (a lecture on economics!) At the end of the day, we took a quick tour of one of the Halls of Residence, and as we drove to Bath over the magnificent suspension bridge, there was much discussion on the pros and cons of a basin in your room! Arriving in Bath, we did a quick tour of Bath Spa University, and then spent the evening in the beautiful city of Bath. Friday morning we were up to visit Bath University, a complete contrast to Bristol, being a modern campus with a strong sporting faculty. By lunchtime, most girls were beginning to focus on the Sixth Form Ball that evening, so we drove home arguing the case for campus or city, and with plenty to think about with regard to the all-important university choices.
