A record breaking Sports Day!

There was certainly sunshine after the rain for the Senior School Sports day. With flags from all nations draped throughout the row of gazebos, the four House teams entered the arena to the theme of the Olympic Games 2012 blasting out of the speakers. The scene was set, the competitors were ready to do battle and give a performance of a life time.

Five School records were broken throughout the day in the sprinting events and relays and the high Jump record was equalled and as that stands at 1metre 40 centimetres that’s no mean feat. This year saw the introduction of a new event, the Hurdles and all pupils were invited to try this event out, ready for next year when it will be included in the main event. St Madeleine were the victors this year and the Victor Ludorum Cup was shared by two record breakers, Olivia Haley and Beth Saunders.

A wonderfully exciting and competitive day was had by all and together with the fantastic support from parents, staff and all the competitors the day was a real winner.
